This was the song my heart sang all September long. There was sunshine in
the sky and in my heart and soul. We were blessed to be able to spend a great deal of time with our beloved family and I cherished every moment.
We started out the month celebrating my grandfather's 80th birthday. Just about the whole family showed up for the affair and we spent the entire day celebrating his life and the family that could not have been created without him.
The Garbini family is a family of women. The original six, Lorelyn, Becky, Nyla, LuAnn, Lanell, and Renee, went on to have daughters of their own, Shavon, Layla, Rachel, Ryann, Laura, and Samantha, and those daughters have so far created these adorable little dumplings, Giavonna, Elle, Lillian Fay, Leighton, and Vaughn (plus Freya Lynn who was napping). They don't get much cuter than this!
Since everyone was at the my grandfather's party, Josh and I decided to have Freya blessed at the same time. It made the occasion all the more special.
The next day the girls and I (plus our dog, Emerson) headed to Utah to spend a month in paradise. It was a rough trip. Due to delays we didn't make it to Logan until one or two'o clock in the morning. I am so grateful Nona and P-pa were there to help me with everything. Lillian could hardly contain her excitement. Her favorite part of the trip was getting to wear the cupcake "pack pack" she received from her Nana.
The first morning Lillian woke up at Nona's house she looked out the window and shrieked,"There is grass outside!" I couldn't stop laughing when she asked," Can I run in it in the nude?"
It was pretty much non-stop adventures and fun after that.
One of my favorite things to do in Logan during the summer is eat Hawaiian Ice. Thank Heaven we got there just in time to enjoy the last week it was available. We went EVERY DAY!
While we were away my sister added two new pets to her menagerie, a cat named Onion and a dog named Sadie. Onion was a big hit with Lillian and he definitely earned his place in Heaven while she was there. She went cat hunting every day and drug him around with her until he would finally wriggle away.
I loved watching Lillian play with Sadie because they are probably about the same age. They loved to run and run and run all over the house, yard, and down the street.
We ate all of Nona's peaches,
enjoyed the people
celebrated Lillian's half birthday,
participated in and helped organize a Vintage Fashion Show at the residential treatment home where I taught for the month,
and had lots of silly moments together.
Freya changed into an entirely different little person while we were there. She lost her newborn look and began looking more and more like Elmer Fud!
She became a little Miss Smiley Pants
learned to hold up her head and roll from her back to her belly.
Our fun continued in to October. I will fill you in on the rest of our adventures when I get around to uploading all the photos from that fantastic month.
