We spent the month of August continuing to adjust to our new "normal," if you can really call our life "normal."
We figured out Freya loves baths with her sister and being wrapped up like a little burrito. Those two discoveries helped sooth her and allowed for some peace and quiet in our home.
It is amazing how much she has changed over the past month. She went from a sleepy little lump to a beautiful smiley little chub. Lillian had so much hair when she was a baby that at first I was a little put off by Freya's bald head. However, now I find I love kissing her soft dome and I can't wait to see what color her hair turns out to be.
Lillian has a good time playing with Freya. She loves to run with Freya after her baths but gets frustrated when she can't get Freya to "run with her feet." Lillian will yell, "Grow bigger Freya and run with your feet!" It is hilarious! Josh propels Freya through the air and Lillian chases after her shrieking with glee.
This month Lillian moved from a crib to a big girl bed. I think her favorite part about it is that Emerson can lay with her. She has done pretty well staying in her bed at night and at nap time and has only fallen out once or twice.
Lillian makes me laugh at least 20 times a day. When she came to me this morning and said she was ready to go to the Children's Museum I couldn't help but giggle because I think her outfit reflects what she must think I look like when we go out.
It was our first visit to the museum and we had a blast. Lillian was like a pin ball, bouncing from one activity to the next like a maniac. I can't wait to take her back!
We also spent plenty of time playing together and enjoying some of the last weeks of summer. Though I am always glad when the weather starts to cool, once winter arrives I miss taking Lillian swimming and I miss playing with her in the rain.
We celebrated Papa's birthday this month with our traditional trip to Dairy Queen. Lillian couldn't get enough sprinkles on her ice cream!
Most of our mornings were spent playing with our horse friends at Papa's house. Lillian loves to ride her "Geeg." I am afraid poor Beauty is out of a job!
We don't often take family photos so I was pleased when someone offered to snap a photo of us after church. This little family of mine means everything to me. They bring me so much joy and though Freya has only been here on Earth with us for two months, it is obvious we have known her much longer than that. She fits in perfectly.
