Time Keeps MARCHing On!

March was a month full of preparation.  We have been spending pretty much all our "free" time preparing our home for the arrival of Baby Girl #2 in June.  I have gone through every room, cupboard and closet sorting, organizing, and throwing away everything I can to make room in our tiny house for another human being.  It has not been easy!  Josh and Lillian have been a big help.

Lillian is a pro at waiting patiently, wearing her ear protection, while Josh saws away building organizers for my closet (so we can move all my clothes out of the baby's room).
March wasn't ALL work.  We had some fun too.
Lillian and I played with Gigi at the barn as usual.  Lillian is becoming a great little rider and enjoys her walks on Gigi.  She constantly tells Gigi to "Trot!" and asks me if she can jump. I entertain her by trotting a few steps and walking over poles but I am not sure how much longer that will be good enough!
We also took our new stroller out for some nice long family walks to the park to supplement my morning runs.  Even Emerson likes the stroller!
Spring cleaning did not only include the house.  Our vehicles got a good scrub (or sweep) as well.
I hit the 24 week mark in March.  Other than feeling tired, things are going well for me and Baby Girl.
Lillian's birthday is not the only one we celebrate in March.  Both her grandmothers and her grandfather were born in March so we got in some nice family time this month as well.
The weather was beautiful so we spent as much time outside as possible enjoying spring before summer arrives.  Lillian had a blast flying kites one afternoon after church.  Her kite never left the ground but she had fun dragging it around.  I was the official  sting de-tangler.
Lillian's love of drawing has led to a love of painting.  It is fun to see what she creates.  Thank goodness for washable watercolors!
It is always a struggle to get ready to go places now that I have my best friend with me all the time.  She rarely ever just goes off to play while I get dressed.  She usually likes to sit with me and sing songs, make messes in my bathroom, put on makeup, or do all three things at the same time.
At the end of the month, Nona, P-pa, Sam, and Kris came to visit to help us celebrate Lillian's second birthday.  We had a great time together at her birthday party (I will do a separate post on that later), at the 4th Avenue Street Fair and at the Zoo.
Aunt Sam took about a million photos of Lillian that I will have to post later. Lillian likes to approve each photo before Sam is allowed to take more.

On the day of Lillian's birthday Josh and I surprised her by dumping balloons on her in her crib.  She thought that was the best surprise EVER!  She played with all her balloons for probably 45 minutes before we could get her to come downstairs to eat her birthday cake pancakes.
She had us sing to her twice so she could blow out her candles two times.

 Then we opened presents
and went to the zoo with some cousins.
Lillian kept saying, "More animals! More animals!"
She got a little too close to the Boa Constrictor but we were able to rescue her before she was squeezed to death.
In keeping with birthday tradition we met Papa and Grandma Jean at Dairy Queen for a birthday ice cream cone.
March was a very busy, fun, special month for everyone involved.  I can not believe Lillian has been in our family for two years now. It seems both longer and shorter at the same time. Sometimes when I see Josh carry her I am reminded of the day we came home from the hospital with her and she snuggled against his chest.  Now all her limbs swing and dangle when he holds her!  She is such a special little girl.  We are blessed to have been given such a perfect little soul to care for.
