Horse Show Awards 2011

January is the month of awards. There is the Arizona Hunter Jumper Association awards banquet, where the United States Equestrian Federation awards are also presented, and the Tucson Hunter Jumper Association awards banquet.

Wellspring Farm made out like a bandit this year at the THJA awards banquet and we had a great time. In her first season showing, Gigi was able to earn enough points to be 3rd in the city in the Schooling Jumpers and 5th in the city in the Level One Jumpers. I am very proud of her.
The AHJA banquet is held in Scottsdale and so only Susie, Betsy, I made the journey to pick up awards. Even though I only showed Welcome in 3 shows last winter, we were able to earn enough points to be Reserve Champion in the state in 3 divisions : First Year Green Hunters, Amateur Owner Hunters, and Low Amateur Owner Hunters. That was exciting given the circumstances.

We did not place in the Zone 8 awards this year because Welcome and I went to so few shows but he did very well in California with his new owner and won some awards there.

I hope 2012 brings as much horse show fun as 2011 did!
