Lillian and I find ourselves at the barn at least four times a week. Just about all the horses know and like Lillian. Some of them like her because she come bearing treats, some of them like her because she smells like a treat (she eats at least half as many as she passes out), and some of them like her because she is a baby and they like babies.
My horse, Gigi, likes her for all three reasons and, I hope, because she knows Lillian is mine. Gigi likes to stick her head in Lillian's stroller and snuffle her hair. She knickers to Lillian when she comes barreling up to her stall, carrots in hand. The two of them make everyone smile, including me. Gigi truly is a gentle giant.
