Surprise!!

Five or six weeks ago, Josh and I found out we are expecting a baby in March 2012. It was a huge surprise and I must admit I spent several days wallowing in panic and tears. I am glad to say I have pulled myself together and am dealing with the exhaustion and nausea pretty well. We had our second doctor appointment August 26 and this is what we saw..... Though I have had a difficult time adjusting to the idea of having a child, I have to admit tears sprang to my eyes when I saw the little hands waving at us.
We decided not to tell people until the idea had sunk in a bit more, so I had some time to think up a cute way to break the news. I made a tag for our parents and grandparents like the one below.

For my dad, I attached the tag to a pair of these infant riding breeches and presented them to him for his birthday.

For Josh's family we ironed a firefighter patch onto onesies and sent them off in the mail.

I gave my mom and Matt this onesie when we went to Utah to visit them last week.

And I sent my grandma and grandpa Garbini this cute pony onesie.

Because I am only 10 weeks, we still have a while until we find out if it is a girl or a boy. Until then, I call it whatever fruit or vegetable corresponds best to its size. This week it is Prune. :)
