When I was a little girl I loved the book Peter Rabbit. My mom read that story to me so many times I memorized it and to this day I can recite lines from the book. Peter is so naughty and cute you can't help but love him. I currently have a Peter Rabbit of my own. The baby bunny I took to the Wildlife Rescue has been named Peter because he shares some of Peter's naughty tendencies. When I rescued him I was unaware of how young he is. Apparently, he was supposed to be safe and sound in his mother's den when I found him, so like my beloved Peter Rabbit, he had escaped from his mother.
I receive weekly updates about little Peter and the latest update brought a smile to my face. Peter went missing for two days at the Wildlife Rescue. He hopped so high he knocked the top off of his cage and jumped out. When the vets came to check on him in the morning he was no where to be found. Everyone searched and searched for him and finally gave him up for lost. Two days later when they went to do the laundry there was naughty little Peter bundled up under the towels. The vet said she scooped him up and took him back to his cage where he promptly drank an entire bowl of milk and took a long nap.
