Celebrate Good Times! Come On!

March was a month full of celebrations.  

Our first celebration was Josh's brother's wedding. We were blessed to be part of Bobbi and Justin's special night. We had a lovely time watching them start this adventure together.

We celebrated Spring Break with slow mornings full of play time, family workouts, and time with pets.

 We read LOTS and LOTS of books.

We enjoyed the sunshine at the Desert Museum 

and spent a day at the aquarium in Scottsdale.

 My favorite moment at the aquarium happened right when we arrived. After our 2 hour drive the girls needed to use the restroom.  Well, imagine our surprise when we walked in to the restroom to see sharks swimming above the sinks!  Lillian grabbed Freya and said,"Stay behind me Freya! He sees you and may think you are a snack!"  

It made me think of this moment from a few years ago when Lillian said," I'm a shark and I like to eat babies! Arrr!  It's OK Freya. It's just me."

Because it was Spring Break, the aquarium had lots of fun kid activities that made our time their even better.  Lillian LOVES sea creatures and probably could have stayed there forever.

We also made sure we ate lots of dessert during Spring Break because isn't that what you do when you are on vacation?  Real life rules no longer apply.

Our next celebration was St. Patrick's Day.  The girls woke up happy to see the leprechaun drank the green milk they poured him the night before and left quarters and donuts in its place.

The leprechaun didn't stop their though.  He put mustaches on everyone in the house! (He may also have sneaked in to Freya's bed and made her hair even crazier than usual!)

We ate rainbow breakfast pizza, watched Barby O'Gill and the Little People, 

 and attended the annual Concannon St. Patty's Day party, our favorite tradition.

Josh celebrated the purchase of his new baby, The Maverick, by entering it in to a local car show.

Next, I threw a killer Clue themed murder mystery dinner in honor of the Relief Society's 176th birthday.

We had all the characters (Inspector Brown is missing from this picture) as well as

the different rooms in the Body Mansion, like the Billiard Room,

 the Kitchen,

 the Conservatory,

 the Hall,

 the Library,

 and the Dining Room.

To top it all off we had yummy Clue themed food like Colonel Mustard's Chicken and

 Ms. Scarlet red velvet cake.

At the end of the night we found out who murdered Ms. Body.  Sister Green, in the Conservatory, with the rope.

It was a lot of work to write, decorate, and plan but all these wonderful ladies helped me get it together and it was a fabulous night!

The day after Clue Lillian had her 6th birthday party.  I was originally surprised by her request for a small movie night at our house as her birthday celebration but it turned out nicely and she had a good time.  She welcomed her friends up the red carpet and in to Dos Hermanas Cinema to eat pizza and watch Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

We were blessed to have my family in town, including my talented sister, who took these photographs.  I am always glad when she takes photos of my kids.

Once Lillian's party was over we had a night to rest up before my grandmother's 80th birthday celebration!  I am excited because apparently when you turn 80 you get two cakes!

I love days like this one, days filled with family, with food, chatting, laughter, playing, and memories. Once again I am thankful my sister was there to catch a few moments.

We don't have enough days like this so I just try to hold on until the next one and hope all the family that couldn't make it this time will be able to join us the next.

One birthday celebration is never enough so we celebrated Lillian's birthday again, as a family, on her real birthday day.  She got her birthday waffles, 

 her birthday button,

a trip to the bounce place,

 dinner at Eegee's, and gifts.  She was a happy little girl.

We wrapped up our month of celebrations by attending an animal party in honor of Jonas and Graham's birthday.  Jonas and Graham are Lillian and Freya's male counterparts.  They love each other and they hate each other all at the same time.

There was so much to celebrate in March I am a little worried April will be dull. How could it possibly compete with all that?!  I may just have to think up a few things to celebrate, just for the heck of it!
