Home again, home again, jiggety-jig

Well, we finally made the long trek home but not before squeezing in as much Utah fun as we could before hitting the road.  

We had a great time playing and eating at the Wellsville Festival.

We visited the Hogle Zoo to see the dinosaur exhibit and play with cousins.  Lillian preferred the dinosaurs to the real animals and kept asking me if she could pet them or if they would bite her.

We spent a rainy day at The Wiggle Place using our imaginations and getting some pent up energy out through song and dance.

We spent another rainy day having blanket rides. Lillian giggled to much to pull the blanket very far so I had to take over.   Let me tell you, these little girls get heavy fast!

I was lucky enough to attend the launch party for my cousin's new line of dresses for her boutique, Poppy and Dot.  We had a fabulous time supporting her, seeing her dresses in the flesh, and partying it up!  We had our hair braided, ate THE BEST cotton candy I have ever had, plastered our bodies with gold tattoos, and were adorned with gold makeup.

Layla kept telling us we would look best in our photos if we were laughing.  We tried it. It didn't work.

Little Miss Busy Body Freya decided she loved shopping while we were visiting Nona.  She would get her shoes (she loves shoes already), put a bow on her head, grab a bag, and then zoom around the house stuffing everything she could find into her sack.  She was a baby on a mission!

She also discovered she could reach the cereal boxes in the pantry.  This meant she could snack whenever she wanted and snacks didn't only mean a full belly but also a rapt audience.

Freya has also become a good helper, sweeping, vacuuming, putting clothes in the dryer, and helping with the horses.  This stage is so much fun. I enjoy watching her little mind figure things out and become independent.

 My little peachy baby is growing fast and I am not happy about it.  She knows baby sign language, says, "Hi" and "Mama", and she learns things fast. She only has to see you do something once and she can do it, like striking matches for example. Uh-oh!

Lillian came home from Nona's house with a new pet, Madeline the rat. Can you see her in the sink after her bath and eating lunch on Lillian's shoulder?  I was reluctant to take her home at first but the little rodent won me over. Lillian has so much fun carrying her around, reading her stories, feeding her treats, and playing with her.  So far she has been a great addition to our family.

We spent as much time as we could with cousins before we had to go home.  I had so much fun growing up with my cousins, it is important to me that Lillian and Freya have that kind of fun as well.  Lillian and Elle have a great time together just running wild and wrestling like maniacs in the grass.  

Scout just loves Freya to death. He follows her all around begging for kisses. Freya is a little less excited about all the hovering but she will take  a ride if it is offered.

Right before we left Auntie Sam took some photos for us. She always does a fantastic job, especially when trying to get these two to cooperate is like chasing greased piglets around the farm yard! The 15 hour ride home was uneventful. My dad made the journey with us so it wasn't too bad.  Freya had had enough by Toltec and I had some trouble getting her back in her car seat after a pee break.  She calmed down though and we made it home.  We got in around midnight, tired and covered with road grim.  I went to turn on the water to give the girls a quick bath and nothing came out!  Our water had been shut off because no one had been home to pay the bill!  I had to sneak over to the neighbor's house and fill up all of our pots and pans with water so that we had something until I could have the water company out the next day.  It was inconvenient but we survived. Then we put Madeline's cage together and went to bed. 

 It always takes us awhile to adjust to being home after we are in Utah for so long.  We have to get used to the heat and we miss Nona, P-pa,and Sam. Thankfully we have MORE cousins here at home to go on adventures with us and cheer us up. We spent the day at Apple Annie's picking apples, peaches, green beans, and peppers, and that chased our blues away.

We are getting back in the swing of things now, loving life, learning, growing, and planning more adventures!
