Bunny Whisperer

My dad is the official Bunny Whisperer. A few years ago, he found out the Cottontail rabbits that live around the house love our horse treats. Once he made this discovery, he began throwing horse treats out to the rabbits who laid in the shade of the planter, which is just off the porch. The hungry little rabbits soon picked up on this and they began watching for people to come out on the porch. As soon as you would walk out on the porch they would rush up and wait for their treats. It has been fun to watch them grow up and disappear and be replaced by new fluffy little friends.

Well, my dad's whispering doesn't stop there. He now places treats in a bucket on the porch and has the rabbits trained to jump in the bucket, grab a treat, and then hop out of the bucket. This new trick allows them to eat their treats all day long. The rabbit in the picture is called Notch and he is by far the bravest rabbit. I was tacking up my horse Hunter the other morning and Notch came by for a snack. I was only about 8 feet away from him and he didn't even blink an eye.
